Irish Dance

Madelyn’s Irish dance journey began at the age of six during her first time being babysat by her Aunt Jackie, who just so happened to be a World Champion-level Irish dancer. Between giggles and games, Aunt Jackie taught Madelyn her first jig and sent videos to her parents. That moment sparked a lifelong passion. Soon, Aunt Jackie became “Miss Jackie”, Madelyn’s dance teacher and mentor, guiding her through competitions around the world for the next fifteen years.

By the age of sixteen, Madelyn was participating in a summer intensive to learn the full choreography for Riverdance, the iconic international dance phenomenon. She traveled across Scotland, Ireland, and England for solo competitions, all while juggling AP classes and preparing for college.

When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted her plans to compete at the World Championships in Dublin, she feared her competitive dance career had ended. But life had other plans.

Madelyn joined the West Chester University Irish Dance Team during her freshman year, simply looking to stay active, but what she found was a new passion. Unlike solo competition, team dancing brought fresh challenges and new joy. By her sophomore year, she had become President of the team, choreographing routines, mentoring younger dancers, and grew into a confident team leader.

Today, Madelyn brings that same passion and discipline to the Miss America Opportunity. She choreographs her own routines, designs her own costumes, and proudly represents the artistry and athleticism of Irish dance on the Miss Pennsylvania stage. In 2024, she was honored as the Talent Winner at both Miss Berks County and Miss Pennsylvania.

Not only is Madelyn breaking glass ceilings on the meaning of “talent”, but she is paving the way for other Irish dancers to display their talent within Miss America Opportunity.
